For guests who sailed on The Rock Boat in 2017, Anchor Down was a way for them to say, “I’m in,” by putting down a refundable deposit of $199 before we went on sale.

Anchor down deposits are stored in your Sixthman profile and will apply toward your reservation on The Rock Boat XVIII.

What is the advantage of Anchor Down?
Each guest who placed a $199 Anchor Down deposit before 11:59pm ET on March 1st, 2017 will receive an exclusive TRB XVIII T-shirt. Anchoring down will not change your booking order for the TRB XVIII pre-sale, but guests who anchor down will have the money set aside and ready to go when it is their turn to book!

Will I lose my alumni status if I do not Anchor Down?
No, you will retain your alumni status and booking order will be determined using the same process as this year.

Things to Note:

  • Anchoring Down with a deposit does NOT mean you are booked on the cruise. You must still place your reservation by booking a cabin during the pre-sale in order to guarantee your spot.
  • Your $199 deposit is 100% refundable should you choose not to place a reservation. Any deposit not applied toward a reservation will be refunded back to your original card after July 7, 2017.
  • A $199 deposit is required for EACH guest that wishes to receive an Anchor Down t-shirt.
  • This deposit is not transferable to another guest.

Subject to change, the cruise itinerary is:

  • Tuesday, January 30, 2018 - Port of New Orleans (approx. 5:30pm CT)
  • Wednesday, January 31 - Day At Sea
  • Thursday, February 1 - Progreso, Mexico (8am to 4:30pm)
  • Friday, February 2 - Cozumel, Mexico (9am to 5:30pm)
  • Saturday, February 3 - Day At Sea
  • Sunday, February 4 - Port of New Orleans (approx. 8:00am CT)

Can the itinerary change?
Though it is rarely necessary, Norwegian Cruise Line reserves the right to alter the itinerary due to adverse weather, safety concerns, port closings, or mechanical issues. Sixthman works closely with Norwegian to preserve the scheduled itinerary and will communicate any changes to guests at the earliest opportunity.

When booking flights we recommend that you arrive in New Orleans no later than 12:00pm CST. Return flights should be arranged to leave New Orleans after 12:00pm on February 4th CST.

**Please allow additional time for customs clearance for international flights.

The exact performance schedule will be released HERE prior to the cruise, but count on each band playing multiple times with festival scheduling and multiple shows occurring on multiple stages!

The Rock Boat XVIII is run “festival style,” with multiple shows going on simultaneously. All of these shows are general admission, so you’re welcome to come and go as you wish!

There are performances where capacity is limited, however the artists perform multiple times during the cruise.

Our artists are excited to join you on board for the whole event. However, there may be some cases where they must join us during the trip or depart early due to schedule or family commitments.

We begin working with artists up to a year prior to sailing to craft an amazing line up and guest experience. In rare cases, in the course of the year an artist may have an unforeseen circumstance arise causing them to have to cancel from the line up all together. If this occurs communication will be shared with booked guests as soon as possible and every reasonable attempt will be made to add to the line up, but this is not always possible due to the unique nature of the event. After the line up guarantee date of July 7, 2017 all cancelations are subject to our 100% non-refundable cancelation policy, line up changes do not make guests eligible for refunds or compensation.

Norwegian will make every effort to accommodate you, providing you have not entered the 24th week of pregnancy when the cruise ends. Please include your cruise details in an email to the Access Desk or accessdesk@ncl.com with a medical certificate establishing your due date prior to the cruise.

Infants under six months of age are not eligible for travel on Norwegian ships.

A fixed service charge will be added to your onboard spending account in the amount of $13.99 per person per day for interiors, ocean views, balconies and mini-suites and $16.99 per person per day for all suites.

The reason there's a fixed service charge is an important one: the ship crew is encouraged to work together as a team. Staff members including restaurant staff, stateroom stewards and behind-the-scenes support staff are compensated by a combination of salary and incentive programs that your service charge supports.

Additionally, an 18% auto-gratuity charge will be applied for some other onboard services and experiences. These include, but are not limited to, beverage purchases (alcohol and non-alcoholic as well as ALL beverage packages), specialty dining packages, alcohol tastings, and spa and salon services.

While you are welcome to extend additional gratuities at your discretion, these minimum service gratuities are agreed to be paid by you upon booking your stateroom.
